Elderly Home Doctor & Concierge Care in Cabo San Lucas

Bringing aging parents or older relatives to Cabo is wonderful and slightly stressful in equal measure. A clinic visit in a foreign country is hard for travelers in their seventies and eighties — physically, cognitively, and logistically. Our concierge sends a physician to your villa or hotel suite for a calm, unhurried, in-room geriatric consultation, with a registered nurse for daily check-ins where the trip needs that level of support.

Why an in-room doctor visit is the right answer for older travelers

Older travelers do not bounce back from a chaotic clinic morning the way younger guests do. Driving downtown, navigating a waiting room, sitting on a clinic exam table, and explaining a complex medication list through a language barrier is exhausting in a way that often masks the symptom you came in for. The in-room concierge visit removes all of it: the doctor comes to the bedside, the patient stays seated, and the consultation can take the time it actually needs.

For families bringing parents or grandparents to Cabo, this also matters at the level of dignity. Older patients are more comfortable in their own room, with their family nearby, and with a clinician who is speaking their language. The visit is calm, the documentation is clear, and the medication plan is written in English for the family to follow.

Pharmacy & Doctors operates under COFEPRIS pharmacy authorization #05-022-B. The geriatric concierge runs 24/7 and dovetails with our private nurse and pharmacy delivery services.

What the geriatric concierge covers

Visits are paced for older patients and structured around what the family actually needs to know.

In-Room Geriatric Consult

Unhurried bedside consultation. Full history (including a careful medication review), focused exam, plain-language plan, English documentation for the family.

Medication Review & Refill

Review of the patient's home medications, identification of duplications or interactions, refill of common chronic medications where clinically appropriate, and prescription delivery through our COFEPRIS pharmacy.

Daily Nurse Check-Ins

For trips where the patient needs more eyes than a single visit can provide, a registered nurse adds daily vitals, glucose checks, medication reminders, and clear updates to the family.

Escalation & Hospital Liaison

If something changes and a hospital visit becomes necessary, the concierge coordinates the transition — including selecting the right private hospital and briefing the receiving team.

How the visit is dispatched for an older patient

The flow is structured to lower stress for the patient and the family.

  1. Share the situation. WhatsApp or call the concierge with the patient's age, the symptoms or concern, the home medication list, and the address. The coordinator confirms the visit window and the doctor's name.
  2. The physician arrives. The MD takes the time the visit actually needs. History is collected carefully, the exam is unhurried, and the plan is explained to the patient and the family in English.
  3. Documentation and follow-up. Written care plan in English, prescriptions issued in person, pharmacy delivery coordinated. If daily nurse check-ins are recommended, the schedule is set before the doctor leaves.

Where the geriatric concierge runs

The service is available at every address in Los Cabos: Cabo San Lucas hotels, downtown rentals, Pedregal, Médano, Marina, El Tezal villas, the full Tourist Corridor (Esperanza, Las Ventanas, Montage, Chileno Bay, Cape Thompson, Hilton, Westin, Marquis, JW Marriott, Grand Velas, and the residential corridor), San José del Cabo (Hotel Zone, downtown, La Playita, Puerto Los Cabos), and the gated communities at Palmilla, Querencia, Cabo del Sol, Diamante, and Quivira.

For long-stay families and snowbird residents who have older parents visiting, we run scheduled visits across the stay and keep the same physician where possible.

COFEPRIS-licensed, geriatric-experienced team

Every physician dispatched for a geriatric visit is Mexican-licensed and works in English, and we match clinicians experienced with older patients to these visits. Prescriptions are written only after the in-person consultation and only by a licensed Mexican MD. We do not refill controlled substances on a request basis; for older patients with complex regimens, we recommend bringing an adequate home supply of any controlled medication.

Our pharmacy operates under COFEPRIS #05-022-B (printed on our home page for verification). Itemized English-language invoices are accepted by major travel insurers for reimbursement. Payment is at the time of service by card or transfer.

Questions guests ask

Is this different from your house-call doctor service?
It is the same physician network, but the geriatric concierge is structured for older patients — slower paced, longer visits where needed, careful medication review, English documentation for adult children. The same nurse and pharmacy concierge supports it.
Can you handle dementia or memory-care patients?
Yes — we adapt the visit to the patient. We brief the clinician in advance, work with the family member who is the primary contact, and write documentation in plain language. For more intensive memory-care needs, we coordinate longer nurse visits and recommend specialists where appropriate.
What if my parent needs to go to the hospital?
We help select the right private hospital in Cabo or San José del Cabo, brief the receiving team on the case, and coordinate the transition. For true emergencies, we direct you to the closest hospital first and follow up after stabilization.
Can you refill my parent's daily medications?
Most non-controlled chronic medications can be refilled after the consultation, through our COFEPRIS-licensed pharmacy. Controlled medications require either bringing an adequate supply from home or a specific in-person evaluation; many are not eligible for refill on a request basis.
Do you provide English documentation we can share with our home doctor?
Yes. Every visit produces an English written care plan with diagnosis, medication changes, and follow-up recommendations. On request the physician adds an English referral letter for the patient's primary doctor at home.
